Timna

Yorkshire Terrier · Female · Senior · 12 years

Timna, a small and adorable dog, was brought to the animal shelter on May 28, 2026. She was found wandering alone in Kecskemét and taken to the shelter. During the chip check, no chip was found, and despite having a hair tie in her fur, she was not reported missing by anyone. Perhaps it's better that way, as she may not have been well cared for. Timna is missing many teeth, and those she still has show severe tartar buildup. Like all dogs at the shelter, Timna is out of place and wants to spend her golden years loved and cared for, not behind bars in a kennel. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she will soon be able to book her ticket. Despite everything, Timna tries to make the best of her life and enjoys sniffing around on the playground and running around a bit. She is a charming, friendly, and loving senior dog, even after being betrayed and disappointed so many times. She has probably not had much in her life so far, which is why we wish for Timna's paradise on earth and that she can catch up on all the things she missed out on and enjoy them now. Many strokes, a cozy home, a soft bed, fine food, regular grooming, beautiful walks, age-appropriate activities, and spending wonderful and unforgettable hours with her humans - this is what Timna should experience in her old age - a worthy life's end indeed. But we need you for that! Timna gets along well with her fellow dogs and is currently (June 25, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. We care very much about the sweetest Timna and hope she can leave the shelter soon and enjoy life in a family. We are urgently looking for a great home where Timna will be spoiled with lots of love, care, and security and where they take the old lady as she is. The shelter should not be the final destination for the dogs. Timna is so lovable and has her own love to give. Who shows Timna the sunny sides of life? Due to her age, Timna will no longer be spayed or neutered. Timna still needs a heart ultrasound, with an update to follow. Timna can travel from around mid-July 2026 if she finds a home or foster family.

About Timna

What life with Timna looks like

Timna is a senior yorkshire terrier dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Timna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Timna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Timna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Timna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Timna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Timna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Timna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
