Timon

Male · Adult · 8 years

Timon is a dog who really urgently needs a home!!! Our ward has recently been suffering from arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. These are serious diseases that should be treated in a home environment, warm and with a caring person by his side. An animal shelter is the last place where he should be staying now. That is why we need him to leave as soon as possible. But for that, a home is needed. A long stay at the animal shelter has also affected Timon's health. When he came to us, he was a young dog in the prime of life, but now he is entering his senior years and requires care and attention. Not only has he spent more than half of his life here, but now he also has this terrible diagnosis. The thought of him not being able to find his home and passing away at the animal shelter terrifies us. Timon did not deserve such a fate! Our ward ended up at the animal shelter due to his owner's illness, which was a huge trauma for him - all his world collapsed in one moment and he never really recovered from that trauma. He is a wonderful, affectionate little dog. He loves to cuddle, be scratched on the belly, and will do anything for a treat! He politely approaches us with his paw to be petted and shows with his whole body how much he misses human presence. He walks nicely on a leash and likes to sniff during walks. He also loves to travel. Unfortunately, Timon does not like other dogs. He can pass some without a problem, but if approached, he does not remain calm and expresses his dissatisfaction. What kind of home are we looking for for Timon? Definitely a loving and caring one. Someone aware of the responsibility of caring for an elderly dog suffering from a rheumatic condition. People who will never abandon him again and give him the sense of security he so desperately needs. A home without small children is preferred, and definitely without other animals. We don't know his relationship with cats.

Gdy do nas trafił był młodym psem w sile wieku a teraz zaczyna wchodzić w wiek seniorski i wymaga troski i opieki. W uroczy sposób zaczepia nas łapką by go pogłaskać i całym sobą pokazuje jak bardzo brakuje mu obecności człowieka.

About Timon

What life with Timon looks like

Timon is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Senior dog requiring special care and attention, has behavioral issues with other dogs due to long shelter stay

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Timon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Timon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Timon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Timon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Timon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Timon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Timon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
