Toadette

Female Β· Adult Β· 6 years

Meet Toadette, the happy and affectionate Staffordshire Bull Terrier! She is very social and adores spending time with people, along with a good game of tug with her favourite toys. Toadette found kennels stressful, and she underwent surgery on her back leg, so she was placed in a foster home to recover. Since on foster she settled really well and is a calm dog at home, including building up to spending short period alone with no issues. She would suit committed first-time Staffordshire Bull Terrier owners or with some previous dog experience who can continue building her confidence and rewarding calm behaviours as she settles into her new home. Toadette has shown lovely social skills with both male and female dogs and could happily live with a well-matched canine companion following successful introductions. As she came into our care as a stray, we don’t know her history around cats or small animals, so she is looking for a home without them. Due to her enthusiastic nature and tendency to jump up when excited, Toadette is looking for a home with sensible school-aged children or older. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion who will happily join you on adventures before curling up for cuddles at the end of the day, Toadette could be the perfect addition to your family. With patience, routine and plenty of positive reinforcement, she’s ready to leave kennel life behind and become a much-loved member of her forever home. About Toadette

What life with Toadette looks like

Toadette is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Toadette, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Toadette?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Toadette on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Toadette if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Toadette already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Toadette isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Toadette and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
