Varda

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Varda! I was born around May 2026. On July 11, I was brought to the shelter on Ofiar Katynia with three of my siblings. Our childhood was not easy. First, we contracted feline herpes, and soon after, the much more serious panleukopenia. Despite treatment, my brother and sister did not survive. Veyra and I won the fight and now we would very much like to start a completely new, happier chapter. I am a cheerful, clever and curious little cat. I love to play and explore the world, but I am definitely more shy than my sister. I need a little time to feel safe and trust a human. Once I dare, I show my cheerful and charming nature. I use a litter box, I have been vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. I am looking for a quiet and patient home, where I can gain courage at my own pace and finally feel that the hardest moments are behind me.

Hej! Mam na imię Varda!Urodziłam się około maja 2026 roku. 11 lipca trafiłam do schroniska z ul. Jestem wesołą, rezolutną i ciekawską koteczką. Korzystam z kuwety, zostałam zaszczepiona, odrobaczona i zaczipowana.Szukam spokojnego i cierpliwego domu, w którym będę mogła nabierać odwagi we własnym tempie i wreszcie poczuć, że najtrudniejsze chwile mam już za sobą.

About Varda

What life with Varda looks like

Varda is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Varda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Varda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Varda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Varda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Varda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Varda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Varda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
