When Vivica arrived at the animal shelter 2.5 years ago, she wasn’t just shy; she was panicky and met people with skepticism. Over the past few years, with lots of patience and training, she’s made some progress. Unfortunately, we’re now noticing that she’s starting to regress—not because she doesn’t want to, but simply because we can’t provide her with what she truly needs in the shelter environment. In the daily routine of the shelter, there isn’t enough time to regularly support her and give her the security she so urgently requires. As a result, her progress is slowly being lost once more. Vivica is about 4.5 years old, very cautious, and knows almost nothing yet about the world outside the shelter. She needs people who don’t expect anything from her and are willing to work with her at her own pace. If you can imagine giving her the chance for a new life, please get in touch with us. Update June 2024: Our shelter manager has started intensive training sessions with Vivica. Vivica is clearly benefiting from this, making real progress, and is now allowing herself to be touched! At first, she’d panic at every touch of the leash, but the current leash-training exercises are already showing initial success, and Vivica now even lets us put on her harness without any resistance. We’ve noticed that her entire facial expression has changed for the better :) December 2023: Vivica is approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 25 kg with a shoulder height of around 55 cm. She lived for a long time as a street dog and was eventually captured along with her four puppies for her own protection. This helps to break the cycle of ever-new puppies on the streets once again. Vivica is clearly not used to friendly human contact and remains shy. It takes patience and empathy for her to learn to trust people... I-Nr.: h-korfu-vivica-f-1223 Update Juli 2026: Hilferuf - Vivica wird wieder rückschrittig!Als Vivica vor 2,5 Jahren ins Tierheim kam, war sie nicht nur ängstlich. Sie war panisch und ist Menschen mit Skepsis begegnet. Mit viel Geduld und Training ist sie in den letzten Jahren einige Schritte nach vorn gegangen. Doch leider merken wir inzwischen, dass sie wieder Rückschritte macht. Nicht, weil sie nicht möchte, sondern weil wir ihr im Tierheim einfach nicht das geben können, was sie braucht. Im Tierheimalltag fehlt die Zeit sie regelmäßig zu fördern und ihr die Sicherheit zu geben, die sie so dringend braucht. Ihre Fortschritte gehen langsam wieder verloren.Vivica ist etwa 4,5 Jahre alt, sehr vorsichtig und kennt von der Welt außerhalb des Shelters noch fast nichts. Sie braucht Menschen, die nichts von ihr erwarten und in ihrem Tempo mit ihr trainieren. Wenn ihr euch vorstellen könnt, ihr die Chance auf ein neues Leben zu geben, meldet euch bei uns. Update Juni 2024: Unsere Tierheimleiterin hat angefangen intensiv mit Vivica zu trainieren. Das tut Vivica sichtlich gut und sie macht endlich Fortschritte und lässt sich mittlerweile anfassen! Anfangs war sie bei jeder Berührung mit der Leine panisch, das aktuelle Leinentraining zeigt jedoch erste Erfolge und Vivica lässt sich mittlerweile auch das Geschirr gut anziehen. Wir finden ihr ganzer Gesichtsausdruck hat sich schon sehr positiv verändert :) Dezember 2023: Vivica ist ca. 2 Jahre alt und wiegt aktuell 25kg bei etwa 55cm Schulterhöhe. Sie lebte lange als Straßenhund und wurde irgendwann zu ihrem eigenen Schutz eingefangen mit ihren 4 Welpen. Somit kann auch der Kreislauf von immer neuen Welpen auf der Straße wieder ein Stück weit unterbrochen worden. Vivica ist den freundlichen Kontakt zum Menschen offensichtlich nicht gewöhnt und noch scheu. Es braucht Geduld und Einfühlungsvermögen, damit sie lernen kann dem Menschen zu vertrauen...
