His story: Winnetou is still a young dog, but has already had quite a long story to tell. One day, he suddenly appeared in a village out of nowhere. For a while, he accompanied tourists on their hikes. But like many places, this village is not a safe place for stray dogs in Romania. Somewhere along the way, he was likely taken and released at a different location. By magic, he then reappeared in a city about 20 km away from the village. Maria Crisan, one of our animal rescuers, then took Winnetou in and he could move into a Romanian foster home. A year full of challenges followed. He could not be left unsupervised in the garden because he constantly found ways to "escape" and run back to the village where he apparently used to call home. Winnetou is a charming young male dog with a height of about 55 cm (maybe even a bit taller) and a weight of about 25-27 kg. He loves chilling in the house and is very friendly to other household pets (including cats) and children. He loves walks on a leash and also plays very happily in the garden when let loose. By appearance, Winnetou could be a Dalmatian mix. Even though it might be the "foster parents"

Seine Geschichte: Winnetou ist noch ein junger Hund, hat aber bereits eine lange Geschichte zu erzählen. Wie aus dem Nichts tauchte er eines Tages in einem Dorf auf. Eine Zeit lang begleitete er Touristen bei ihren Wanderungen. Aber wie so viele Orte ist auch dieses Dorf kein sicherer Ort für die Streuner Rumäniens. Irgendwann wurde er wohl mitgenommen und an einem anderen Ort ausgesetzt. Wie von Zauberhand tauchte er dann in einer Stadt, etwa 20 km von dem Dorf entfernt, wieder auf. Maria Crisan, eine unserer Tierschützerinnen, nahm Winnetou dann zu sich und er konnte in eine rumänische Pflegestelle ziehen. Ein Jahr voller Herausforderungen folgte. Man konnte ihn leider nicht unbeaufsichtigt im Garten lassen, weil er immer wieder Wege fand „auszubrechen“ und in das Dorf zu laufen, in dem er scheinbar mal zu Hause war. Winnetou ist ein ganz bezaubernder junger Rüde mit einer Größe von etwa 55 cm (vielleicht auch etwas größer) und ein Gewicht von etwa 25-27 kg. Er liebt es im Haus zu chillen und ist sehr freundlich zu den anderen Haustieren (auch Katzen) und Kindern. Er liebt Spaziergänge an der Leine und spielt auch sehr gerne frei im Garten.
