9/2/2026: Winsley is a lively and energetic gentleman who craves adventure and love. He may be a bit shy around new people and squint from the corners of his eyes, but once trust is established and he becomes familiar, the friendly Winsley gets along well with people. While at HESY, Winsley has been house trained and has also handled being alone well. Winsley does not bark much when left alone, but instead knows how to calm down during alone time. However, grooming procedures have been somewhat inconsistent. For example, ear cleaning has been successful, but nail trimming is a suspicious activity for Winsley. Grooming procedures will need to be practiced in a new home. The eager Winsley has a habit of pulling on the leash. Winsley knows how to walk nicely, but when he catches a good smell, he does not hold back his enthusiasm. Winsley enjoys playing with toys (and killing them). It is a good idea to monitor toy play in a new home. Winsley is looking for a home as the only dog in the family. He reacts strongly to other dogs, which is why an apartment building is not a suitable living space for him: passing other dogs in the narrow stairwells of an apartment building can be challenging. With sufficient distance, the rounds also decrease. Because Winsley may become very excited and rowdy at times, he is not the best choice for a family with young children. Small children may get trampled by the 30-kilogram Winsley. Winsley needs enough activity and relaxation exercises. He is unlikely to be a good first dog, and the new owner must have previous dog experience. The new home must commit to dog-centered and positive training and building a balanced daily routine.
