Wolf

Mixed Breed Β· Male Β· Young Β· 2 years

This is Wolf, a very handsome and gentle boy who was rescued from the streets, abandoned and lost. He's just over 2 1/2 years old and loves people, both adults and children alike. He is good with other large and medium dogs but is initially wary of small dogs and can take some time to get to know them. He is a good eater but due to some dental work prefers wet or soft food. Wolf is currently in a foster and his foster mum says he is a calm dog who enjoys lounging around but he also loves to play, toys are a favourite of his. From experience we know that Huskies can be like this in hot climates, in a forever home in a colder climate like Scotland he may well be a lot more active in line with his breed. He knows some basic commands but, as with all rescue dogs, ongoing training will be essential. Wolf has spent this year in the Saudi summer sun and Arctic breeds are just not equipped to deal with the desert heat. Wolf has now completed his preparation to travel and we are aiming to have

About Wolf

What life with Wolf looks like

Wolf is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Sand to Sofa Rescue in United Kingdom.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Wolf, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Wolf?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Sand to Sofa Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Wolf on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Wolf if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Sand to Sofa Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Wolf already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Wolf isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Sand to Sofa Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Wolf and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
