Yara

Cocker Spaniel Β· Female Β· Adult Β· 5 years

22-10-26 Yara is a sweet and affectionate lady who has come to us from a breeder and is still feeling a little shy as she tries to find her paws. She is still learning to trust the world around her and will need a kind and patient home where she can settle in at her own pace and grow in confidence. Yara will need at least one kind and confident resident dog in her new home who can take her under their wing and help show her the ropes as she continues to blossom. She has never lived in a home before, so her adopters will need to be understanding as she learns all about house training, walking on a lead and the joys of being a much-loved pet. She will need her adopters to have experience with ex-breeders to better understand her needs, and can live with older, dog-savvy children who are sensible. Yara has arrived with us extremely overweight, so her new family will need to help her work towards a healthier weight through a suitable diet and a gradual, appropriate exercise routine. She is currently being treated for a bilateral ear infection and will continue to be monitored by our vets. Yara is a lovely girl who is just a little shy and trying her best to be brave. With time, patience and plenty of love, we know she will make a wonderful addition to an understanding home. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Yara

What life with Yara looks like

Yara is an adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Yara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
