adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Yiska has found her home! Her story: Yiska is about 3 months old and belongs to the four puppies from Ronja, who survived the cruel life with the shepherd. Ronja lived with her 12 puppies in the deepest winter at the Kette, without proper shelter, only with an old, moldy wooden hut. When our team intervened, only four puppies could be saved. Now, all of them (including mother Ronja) are in safety in the shelter in Busag and are being lovingly cared for. Yiska has black fur and black eyes that at first glance seem a bit shy as they look into the world. Her two white front legs with small black spots look like polka-dotted socks and make her a very special puppy. Yiska is initially reserved but friendly – once she understands that nothing will happen to her, she lets herself be touched and appears very gentle. She has mild skin problems on her face, which are currently being attended to; she is under medical observation, so this is well treatable and controllable. Since her mother Ronja looks very much like a Kangal mix, we assume that Yiska also carries herding genes and will grow to be a large dog. Herding dogs are very sensitive, independent, and loyal companions who need clear, calm guidance and a structured, rural environment. Even though neither mother Ronja nor the four sisters have shown characteristics of this breed type so far, we cannot rule out that this may still develop. For Yiska, we are looking for a quiet home in the countryside, preferably with a well-fenced garden. Her people should enjoy working with an initially shy dog without building pressure. She has to learn everything: life in the house, house training, leash walking, everyday noises. And she will – like all young dogs – soon enter her puberty phase, in which boundaries are tested and learned things are sometimes forgotten. With a lot of patience, loving consistency, and understanding, Yiska can become a wonderful, faithful companion. Anyone looking for a sensitive, special female dog and willing to give her the time she needs, might find their heart's desire in Yiska. Thank you, Vanessa B.! Because of you, Yiska has an identity and can now go on the search for her Forever Home. A big thank you also goes to Rosita B., who took on a monthly sponsorship for Yiska. We are also very grateful to Antonia B., who also took on a monthly sponsorship for Yiska. As of: 11.02. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Lieben Dank an Vanessa B.! Stand: 11.02.2026

About Yiska

What life with Yiska looks like

Yiska is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yiska, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yiska?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yiska on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yiska if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yiska already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yiska isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yiska and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
