(Can have video) UPDATE April 2026: Still looking for her home, our beautiful, absolutely easygoing Zaira. We don't understand it, she really is a gem and simply lovely. Compatible with other animals, as long as it's not a cat with which she will share her home, but the companion should be on equal footing. After all, Zaira loves to run and jump through the securely fenced off-leash area. A family, with or without children (preferably teenagers), and enough dog contact is all that the female dog needs to be happy. Update February 26: Zaira is simply a dream dog. Completely relaxed, she walked the Galgo march. She showed no uncertainties, had no stress from street noise and traffic, nor with the many people and other dogs. Anyone who is still looking for the missing piece for their own group is doing everything right with our girl. Zaira is ready for the big wide world and her family, who can enchant her with her cheerfulness. Update December 2025: With Zaira, the sun has moved into the foster family's home in the middle of winter. The foster mom reports with joy about Zaira, because the female dog is not only beautiful, but also incredibly easygoing. It seems as if she immediately understood that now the raisins are falling from the sky and a real good life has begun. Zaira is house trained, walks excellently on a leash, and can even be left alone with her dog friends. She meets people in a Galgo-like manner with care, but the ice is quickly broken and then Zaira enjoys cuddles and attention. What home do we look for for our little deer, Zaira? Easygoing people who go through life with the same love and positive energy as Zaira. Preferably a dog companion, preferably rural, not a big city, preferably no cats, and preferably with the necessary knowledge about Galgos, because Zaira also has a prey drive, which is well manageable. Zaira was given up by a hunter like so many of her breed and came with a whole group of other Galgos to PROA. We can't tell you too much about the beautiful female dog yet, but the basic information fits an easygoing and friendly dog. Zaira comes from a large group, thus showing compatibility and friendliness in dealing with other animals. She avoids fights. People are no problem, as long as the rules of a friendly and calm introduction are followed. Zaira wants to approach people slowly and then everything is fine and you have won her over. At three years old, the beautiful female dog is in the best age. Zaira is missing a toe on her hind foot. The toe is not completely gone, but the last joint with the claw is missing. It does not affect Zaira at all, it was just noticed during the initial veterinary examination. Born: around 2022, size: about 60 cm, weight: about 22.4 kg, character: typical Galgo, reserved, friendly, interested, compatible with other animals, cats should not be in the new home, at the animal shelter since November 2025, in Germany since November 2025 Zaira is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, tested for all Mediterranean diseases, a blood test of the organ values was also done before travel arrangements. Zaira will be rehomed with a safety harness, a GPS tracker is mandatory. (mit Video) UPDATE April 2026: Noch immer sucht unsere wunderschöne, absolut unkomplizierte Zaira nach ihrem Zuhause. Verstehen wir nicht, ist sie doch wirklich ein Goldstück und einfach nur liebenswert. Verträglich mit Artgenossen, sofern es keine Katze ist, mit der sie ihr Zuhause teilen soll, aber ebenbürtig sollte der Kumpel schon sein. Zaira rennt und springt nämlich sehr gerne durch den sicher eingezäunten Freilauf. Eine Familie, ob mit oder ohne Kinder (gerne Teenageralter) und genügend Hundekontakt ist alles, was die Hündin zum Glücklichsein benötigt. Update Februar 26: Zaira ist einfach eine Traumhündin. Völlig entspannt ist sie den Galgomarsch mitgelaufen. Zeigte keine Unsicherheiten, hatte weder Stress mit Straßenlärm und Verkehr, auch nicht mit den vielen Menschen und anderen Hunden. Wer noch das fehlende Glied für seine eigene Gruppe sucht, der macht mit unserem Mädchen wirklich alles richtig. Zaira ist bereit für die große, weite Welt und ihre Familie, die sie mit ihrer Fröhlichkeit verzaubern kann. Update Dezember 2025: Mit Zaira ist die Sonne mitten im Winter bei der Pflegefamilie eingezogen. Die Pflegemama berichtet mit Freude über Zaira, denn die Hündin ist nicht nur bildhübsch, sondern auch unfassbar unkompliziert. Es scheint, als habe sie sofort kapiert, dass nun die Rosinen vom Himmel fallen und ein richtig gutes Leben begonnen hat. Zaira ist stubenrein, sie läuft hervorragend an der Leine, sie bleibt sogar schon problemlos mit ihren Hundefreunden alleine. Menschen begegnet sie Galoglike mit Bedacht, aber das Eis ist ganz schnell gebrochen und Zaira genießt dann auch Streicheleinheiten und Aufmerksamkeit. Welches Zuhause suchen wir unser Rehlein Zaira? Unkomplizierte Menschen, die mit ebenso großer Liebe und positiver Energie durchs Leben gehen wie Zaira. Gerne einen Hundekumpel, gerne ländlich, keine Großstadt, gerne ohne Katzen und gerne mit dem nötigen Wissen über Galgos, denn auch Zaira hat Jagdtrieb, der aber hervorragend zu händeln ist. Zaira wurde wie so viele ihrer Rasse, vom Jäger abgegeben und kam mit einer ganzen Gruppe weiterer Galgos zur PROA. Noch können wir nicht allzu viel über die hübsche Hündin erzählen, aber die Eckdaten passen zu einem unkomplizierten und freundlichen Hund. Zaira kommt aus einer großen Gruppe, zeigt sich somit verträglich und freundlich im Umgang mit Artgenossen. Streitereien meidet sie. Menschen sind kein Thema, solange man die Regeln eines freundlichen und ruhigen Kennenlernens beachtet. Zaira möchte langsam an den Menschen herantreten und dann ist auch alles gut und man hat sie für sich gewonnen. Mit ihren 3 Jahren ist die hübsche Hündin im allerbestem Alter. Zaira fehlt an einem Hinterfuß ein Zehenglied. Die Zehe ist nicht ganz ab, aber es fehlt das letzte Glied mit Kralle. Es beeinträchtigt Zaira überhaupt nicht, es war nur bei der tierärztlichen Erstuntersuchung aufgefallen. Geboren: ca. 2022, Größe: ca. 60 cm, Gewicht: ca. 22,4 kg, Charakter: Galgo typisch zurückhaltend, freundlich, interessiert, Verträglich mit Artgenossen, Katzen sollten nicht im neuen Zuhause sein, im Tierheim seit November 2025, in Deutschland seit November 2025 Zaira ist gechipt, geimpft, kastriert, auf alle Mittelmeerkrankheiten getestet, ebenfalls wurde vor Ausreise ein Blutbild der Organwerte erstellt.
