Adopt Zbój

German Shepherd · Male · Adult · 5 years

Zbój is a dog around 1.5-2 years old, of German Shepherd type. He is a real volcano of energy, who will best find his place in an active home. He knows basic commands and loves being close to people. Contact with the caregiver is very important to him, and shared activities bring him great joy. During play and in great excitement he can sometimes jump, so we are looking for an experienced caregiver who will be able to work with him and guide him properly. The male also requires a safe environment - if he gets bored in the yard, no fence will be a challenge for him, so he needs a properly secured place or a home with controlled walks. We are looking for a home for Zbój without other animals and a home with children over 12 years of age. For adoption, please have your own leash and collar. The description is written based on observations of the dog at the animal shelter. Zbój is under the care of OTOZ Animals animal shelter in Tczew. Shelter registration number: 337/25 The male is vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, and castrated.

Zbój to pies w wieku około 1,5-2 lat, w typie owczarka niemieckiego. About Zbój

What life with Zbój looks like

Zbój is a large adult german shepherd dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zbój, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zbój?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zbój on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zbój if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zbój already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zbój isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zbój and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
