Kerst is voorbij maar we hebben nog steeds een kleine elf die rond de hondenkooien hangt. Kom Buddy de elf goed te begroeten, hij is ongeveer 10 maanden oud. We denken dat hij een bull herder is, een kruising die recent zeer populair is geworden. Hij is waarschijnlijk een mengeling van een Nederlandse herder en een mastiff. Buddy is een jonge en speelse jongen die duidelijk niet veel sociale ervaring of opleiding heeft gehad. Toen hij net kwam vond hij alles heel overweldigend, maar nu hij zich heeft geïntroduceerd, houdt hij eruit om avonturen met onze wandelaars te maken. Buddy houdt er van grote neuzen tijdens zijn wandeling om alles te leren over de wereld om hem heen, wandelingen kunnen langer duren vanwege dit, maar hij heeft het leukst van zijn leven! Vanwege Boddys rassen zoekt hij een thuis met ervaring met werkkammen die hem naar opleidingslessen zullen nemen en mogelijk deel zullen nemen aan een sport met hem zodat hij zijn brein bezig kan houden en vervuld blijft! Buddy houdt van het jagen op zijn trekspelen in de tuin, maar wat hij het meeste houdt is knuffels met zijn mensen, hij is de meest affectieve jongen die liefde verlangt. Buddy werkt hard aan zijn hondensociale vaardigheden, hij werkt momenteel hieraan met ons gedragsteam en maakt verbeteringen. Op zijn wandelingen met onze vrijwilligers is hij in staat om honden op afstand te passeren zonder reacties. Zijn nieuwe eigenaren moeten doorwerken met positieve beloningsgerichte training om hem te helpen zich te ontwikkelen in zijn nieuwe huis. Buddy zoekt een geduldig thuis, hij is momenteel op zoek naar een hondvrije woning terwijl hij zich instelt. Hij zou potentiële kunnen leven met kinderen van 16+ die hondensavvy zijn en katten, afhankelijk van introducties die gedaan worden in het centrum.

Buddy is approximately now 1 year old and has been with us at the centre for around 5 months. He is a young, fun, working type crossbreed, likely a Dutch Herder x Mastiff mix. Since arriving, he has grown in confidence and is now really starting to show his cheeky, affectionate personality. Buddy is a lively lad who is still working on his social skills and learning about the world around him. He can be worried by children, some new people, and unfamiliar situations, so he will need understanding and patient handling as he continues to build confidence. He absolutely loves getting out on his adventures. Buddy enjoys water, shade, and quiet wooded areas where he can enjoy stress free sniffs, bird watching, and his favourite squirrel patrol. Walks are all about exploration for him, and he takes his time soaking everything in. Buddy is very affectionate and loves nothing more than spending time with his humans. While he enjoys a good game of tug and garden play, what he values most is human company and interaction. He has been working closely with our behaviour team and is making steady progress with his canine social skills. His new family will need to continue with positive reward based training to help him continue to thrive and grow in confidence. Buddy is looking for a calm semi rural home environment where he can work on himself and gradually build his confidence. Over time, he can then be gently introduced to new experiences, people, and places outside his comfort zone at his own pace. Confident patient handlers are essential for this young exuberant boy to help him feel secure and supported. He also enjoys garden play and would benefit from secure enclosed outdoor spaces or fenced exercise areas where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy enrichment activities. Buddy has come such a long way during his time with us and is now ready to take the next step into a home of his own, where he can continue to flourish. If you are looking for a fun affectionate and characterful young dog with lots of potential, Buddy could be the perfect match. We would be happy to consider homes with resident neutered canines, multiple introductions at the centre on a weekly basis would be required.
