Jul har kanske gått men vi har fortfarande en liten jultomte kvar i katterummet. Välkommen till Buddy, tomten är ungefär 10 månader gammal. Vi tror att han är en bull herder, en korsning som nyligen har blivit mycket populär. Han är troligen en blandning av en nederländsk herde X bulldog. Buddy är en ung och rolig kill som tycks ha haft lite socialisering eller träning. När han först kom hittade han det ganska överväldigande men nu när han har satt sig in älskar han absolut att gå på äventyr med våra vandrande. Buddy gillar stora dofter på sin promenad för att lära sig allt om världen runt honom, promenaderna kan ta längre tid pga detta men han har den bästa tiden någonsin! På grund av Buddys raser söker han ett hem med erfarenhet av arbetsraser som tar med honom till träningsskolor och eventuellt deltar i en sport med honom så att han kan hålla sin hjärna sydd och uppfylld! Buddy gillar att jaga sina dragspel i trädgården men vad han älskar mest är att kramas av sina människor, han är den mest kärleksvunna pojken som söker kärlek. Buddy jobbar hårt med sina hundsocialiseringsfärdigheter, han arbetar just nu med vårt beteendeteam och gör förbättringar. Vid sina promenader med våra frivilliga och kan passera hundar på avstånd utan reaktioner. Hans nya ägare behöver fortsätta med positiv belöning baserad träning för att hjälpa honom att lyckas i sitt nya hem. Buddy söker ett tålmodigt hem, han söker för närvarande ett hundfritt hem medan han sätter sig in. Han kan eventuellt bo med barn 16+ som är hundkunniga och katter beroende på presentationer gjorda vid centret.

Buddy is approximately now 1 year old and has been with us at the centre for around 5 months. He is a young, fun, working type crossbreed, likely a Dutch Herder x Mastiff mix. Since arriving, he has grown in confidence and is now really starting to show his cheeky, affectionate personality. Buddy is a lively lad who is still working on his social skills and learning about the world around him. He can be worried by children, some new people, and unfamiliar situations, so he will need understanding and patient handling as he continues to build confidence. He absolutely loves getting out on his adventures. Buddy enjoys water, shade, and quiet wooded areas where he can enjoy stress free sniffs, bird watching, and his favourite squirrel patrol. Walks are all about exploration for him, and he takes his time soaking everything in. Buddy is very affectionate and loves nothing more than spending time with his humans. While he enjoys a good game of tug and garden play, what he values most is human company and interaction. He has been working closely with our behaviour team and is making steady progress with his canine social skills. His new family will need to continue with positive reward based training to help him continue to thrive and grow in confidence. Buddy is looking for a calm semi rural home environment where he can work on himself and gradually build his confidence. Over time, he can then be gently introduced to new experiences, people, and places outside his comfort zone at his own pace. Confident patient handlers are essential for this young exuberant boy to help him feel secure and supported. He also enjoys garden play and would benefit from secure enclosed outdoor spaces or fenced exercise areas where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy enrichment activities. Buddy has come such a long way during his time with us and is now ready to take the next step into a home of his own, where he can continue to flourish. If you are looking for a fun affectionate and characterful young dog with lots of potential, Buddy could be the perfect match. We would be happy to consider homes with resident neutered canines, multiple introductions at the centre on a weekly basis would be required.
