Natal já passou, mas ainda temos um pequeno duende rondando os canis. Bem-vindo Buddy, o duende, que tem aproximadamente 10 meses. Acreditamos que ele é um pastor bull, um cruzamento que recentemente se tornou muito popular. Ele provavelmente é um cruzamento entre um pastor holandês e um mastim. Buddy é um jovem e divertido rapaz que claramente não teve muito socialização ou treinamento. Quando chegou, achou tudo bastante abrumador, mas agora que está se adaptando, ele adora fazer aventuras com nossos caminhadores. Buddy gosta de grandes cheiradas durante suas caminhadas para conhecer o mundo ao seu redor, as caminhadas podem demorar mais por causa disso, mas ele está tendo o melhor momento da vida! Por causa das raças dele, ele procura um lar com experiência com raças de trabalho que o levem a aulas de treinamento e possivelmente participem de um esporte com ele, para que ele mantenha sua mente ocupada e realizada! Buddy adora correr com seus brinquedos de puxar no jardim, mas o que ele ama mais é colchão com seus humanos, ele é o menino mais afetuoso que busca amor. Buddy está trabalhando duro em suas habilidades sociais caninas, ele está trabalhando nisso com nossa equipe de comportamento e está fazendo melhorias. Nas suas caminhadas com nossos voluntários e consegue passar por cães à distância sem reações. Os novos donos precisarão continuar com treinamento baseado em recompensas positivas para ajudá-lo a prosperar em seu novo lar. Buddy procura um lar paciente, ele está atualmente procurando um lar sem outros cães enquanto se adapta. Ele pode potencialmente viver com crianças com mais de 16 anos que saibam lidar com cães e gatos, dependendo das apresentações feitas no centro.

Buddy is approximately now 1 year old and has been with us at the centre for around 5 months. He is a young, fun, working type crossbreed, likely a Dutch Herder x Mastiff mix. Since arriving, he has grown in confidence and is now really starting to show his cheeky, affectionate personality. Buddy is a lively lad who is still working on his social skills and learning about the world around him. He can be worried by children, some new people, and unfamiliar situations, so he will need understanding and patient handling as he continues to build confidence. He absolutely loves getting out on his adventures. Buddy enjoys water, shade, and quiet wooded areas where he can enjoy stress free sniffs, bird watching, and his favourite squirrel patrol. Walks are all about exploration for him, and he takes his time soaking everything in. Buddy is very affectionate and loves nothing more than spending time with his humans. While he enjoys a good game of tug and garden play, what he values most is human company and interaction. He has been working closely with our behaviour team and is making steady progress with his canine social skills. His new family will need to continue with positive reward based training to help him continue to thrive and grow in confidence. Buddy is looking for a calm semi rural home environment where he can work on himself and gradually build his confidence. Over time, he can then be gently introduced to new experiences, people, and places outside his comfort zone at his own pace. Confident patient handlers are essential for this young exuberant boy to help him feel secure and supported. He also enjoys garden play and would benefit from secure enclosed outdoor spaces or fenced exercise areas where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy enrichment activities. Buddy has come such a long way during his time with us and is now ready to take the next step into a home of his own, where he can continue to flourish. If you are looking for a fun affectionate and characterful young dog with lots of potential, Buddy could be the perfect match. We would be happy to consider homes with resident neutered canines, multiple introductions at the centre on a weekly basis would be required.
