Julebukk er over men vi har fortsatt en liten julegjeng i hundeholene. Velkommen til Buddy, julegjengen som er omtrent 10 måneder gammel. Vi tror han er en bollherder, en kryssing som har blitt veldig populær for nylig. Han er sannsynligvis en nederlandsk herder X mastiff-kryssing. Buddy er en ung og flink gutt som klart ikke har fått mye sosialisering eller trening. Da han først kom hadde han det litt overveldende, men nå når han begynner å føle seg hjemme elsker han å ta turer med våre stokkere. Buddy liker store lukt på sin tur for å lære seg alt om verden rundt ham, turene kan bli lengre på grunn av dette, men han har det beste livet! På grunn av rassen sin søker han et hjem med erfaring med arbeidsraser som tar ham til treningstime og potensielt deltar i en sport sammen med ham slik at han kan holde hjernen aktiv og fylt! Buddy elsker å jage sine trekkelekter i havna, men det han elsker mest er klemmer med sine mennesker, han er den mest kjærlige gutten som søker etter kjærlighet. Buddy jobber hardt med sine hundesosialiseringsskader, han jobber akkurat nå med dette sammen med vår oppførselsteam og gjør fremskritt. På turene sine med frivillige våre og er i stand til å passere hunder på avstand uten reaksjoner. De nye eierne hans må fortsette med positiv belønningsbasert trening for å hjelpe ham til å lykkes i sitt nye hjem. Buddy søker et tålmodig hjem, han søker for tiden et hundefritt hjem mens han setter seg inn. Han kan potensielt leve sammen med barn over 16 år som er hundekompetente og katte avhengig av introduksjoner gjort i sentret.

Buddy is approximately now 1 year old and has been with us at the centre for around 5 months. He is a young, fun, working type crossbreed, likely a Dutch Herder x Mastiff mix. Since arriving, he has grown in confidence and is now really starting to show his cheeky, affectionate personality. Buddy is a lively lad who is still working on his social skills and learning about the world around him. He can be worried by children, some new people, and unfamiliar situations, so he will need understanding and patient handling as he continues to build confidence. He absolutely loves getting out on his adventures. Buddy enjoys water, shade, and quiet wooded areas where he can enjoy stress free sniffs, bird watching, and his favourite squirrel patrol. Walks are all about exploration for him, and he takes his time soaking everything in. Buddy is very affectionate and loves nothing more than spending time with his humans. While he enjoys a good game of tug and garden play, what he values most is human company and interaction. He has been working closely with our behaviour team and is making steady progress with his canine social skills. His new family will need to continue with positive reward based training to help him continue to thrive and grow in confidence. Buddy is looking for a calm semi rural home environment where he can work on himself and gradually build his confidence. Over time, he can then be gently introduced to new experiences, people, and places outside his comfort zone at his own pace. Confident patient handlers are essential for this young exuberant boy to help him feel secure and supported. He also enjoys garden play and would benefit from secure enclosed outdoor spaces or fenced exercise areas where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy enrichment activities. Buddy has come such a long way during his time with us and is now ready to take the next step into a home of his own, where he can continue to flourish. If you are looking for a fun affectionate and characterful young dog with lots of potential, Buddy could be the perfect match. We would be happy to consider homes with resident neutered canines, multiple introductions at the centre on a weekly basis would be required.
