Natale è finito ma abbiamo ancora un piccolo elfo che gira intorno alle gabbie. Benvenuto Buddy l'elfo, ha circa 10 mesi. Pensiamo che sia un pastore bull, un incrocio che è diventato molto popolare di recente. È probabile che sia un incrocio tra un pastore olandese e un mastino. Buddy è un ragazzo giovane e divertente che evidentemente non ha avuto molta socializzazione o addestramento. Quando è arrivato per la prima volta ha trovato le cose molto sovraccariche, ma ora che si sta ambientando adora andare in avventure con i nostri camminatori. Buddy ama grandi passeggiate per imparare tutto sul mondo intorno a lui, le passeggiate potrebbero durare più a lungo a causa di questo, ma sta vivendo il momento più bello della sua vita! A causa delle sue razze sta cercando una casa con esperienza con razze da lavoro che lo porterà alle classi di addestramento e potenzialmente parteciperà a uno sport con lui così da tenere occupata la sua mente. Buddy ama inseguire i suoi giocattoli di tiro nel giardino ma ciò che ama di più è accoccolarsi con i suoi umani, è un ragazzo molto affettuoso che cerca tanto amore. Buddy sta lavorando sodo sulle sue abilità sociali con gli altri cani. Sta attualmente lavorando su questo con il nostro team comportamentale e sta facendo progressi. Durante le sue passeggiate con i nostri volontari è in grado di passare davanti ai cani a distanza senza reazioni. I nuovi proprietari dovranno continuare con l'addestramento basato sul rafforzamento positivo per aiutarlo a svilupparsi nella sua nuova casa. Buddy cerca una casa paziente, al momento sta cercando una casa senza altri cani mentre si ambienta. Potrebbe convivere con bambini di 16 anni o più che siano esperti di cani e gatti a seconda delle presentazioni fatte al centro.

Buddy is approximately now 1 year old and has been with us at the centre for around 5 months. He is a young, fun, working type crossbreed, likely a Dutch Herder x Mastiff mix. Since arriving, he has grown in confidence and is now really starting to show his cheeky, affectionate personality. Buddy is a lively lad who is still working on his social skills and learning about the world around him. He can be worried by children, some new people, and unfamiliar situations, so he will need understanding and patient handling as he continues to build confidence. He absolutely loves getting out on his adventures. Buddy enjoys water, shade, and quiet wooded areas where he can enjoy stress free sniffs, bird watching, and his favourite squirrel patrol. Walks are all about exploration for him, and he takes his time soaking everything in. Buddy is very affectionate and loves nothing more than spending time with his humans. While he enjoys a good game of tug and garden play, what he values most is human company and interaction. He has been working closely with our behaviour team and is making steady progress with his canine social skills. His new family will need to continue with positive reward based training to help him continue to thrive and grow in confidence. Buddy is looking for a calm semi rural home environment where he can work on himself and gradually build his confidence. Over time, he can then be gently introduced to new experiences, people, and places outside his comfort zone at his own pace. Confident patient handlers are essential for this young exuberant boy to help him feel secure and supported. He also enjoys garden play and would benefit from secure enclosed outdoor spaces or fenced exercise areas where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy enrichment activities. Buddy has come such a long way during his time with us and is now ready to take the next step into a home of his own, where he can continue to flourish. If you are looking for a fun affectionate and characterful young dog with lots of potential, Buddy could be the perfect match. We would be happy to consider homes with resident neutered canines, multiple introductions at the centre on a weekly basis would be required.
