Alinush

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Alinush is a friendly, cheerful and very loving male dog. He is a mix breed, approximately 3 years old, 28 kg, 55 cm tall, and was born around December 2023. Alinush was originally from Pata-Rat and came to the shelter with a neuropathy of unknown cause. The neurological symptoms responded very quickly and well to treatment and fully resolved. The fast and good recovery is a positive sign, and currently, Alinush shows no complaints, he is healthy and fit. (For various idiopathic peripheral neuropathies, the prognosis after complete recovery is good and relapses are rare.) After his recovery, we regretted returning Alinush, as he simply lived on the garbage dump. So he remained in our care and now we hope to find him a suitable home. Alinush is a gentle, calm and very affectionate male. He is initially a bit reserved with new people and prefers to observe a situation quietly. He is not the type of dog that jumps into someone's arms or pushes himself forward. However, if given some time, he opens up and shows a different side: With people he knows and trusts, Alinush is very attached, affectionate and cuddly. He enjoys petting very much and seeks the closeness of his caregivers. At home, Alinush is a very pleasant roommate. He is calm, house-trained, does not bark unnecessarily and does not destroy anything. His energy level is moderate, and he is not one of the dogs that need to be constantly occupied or physically exhausted. After a nice walk or some time together, he can relax and unwind very well. In a new environment, Alinush can initially be a bit uncertain or tense. He needs some time to get to know new places and understand that he is safe there. Alinush gets along very well with other dogs. He is social and friendly, but prefers quieter and more balanced fellow dogs. Dogs that respect his boundaries and communicate more calmly are his favorites, and he can live harmoniously with them. Alinush has also discovered walks and enjoys walking on a leash and being with his human. On familiar routes, he moves relaxed and safely. New paths or unfamiliar environments can occasionally still unsettle him, but he is easy to guide and orients himself to his human. Loud passing cars still scare him, but he is making progress every day. He feels particularly comfortable in quiet, natural areas where it is not too loud and hectic. Forest paths, green spaces and relaxed walks are more to his liking than very busy streets with a lot of traffic and constant new stimuli. Alinush is a rather sensitive dog. He does not need constant action, but people who like his calm nature and can give him security. At the same time, he is by no means a sad or shy dog - on the contrary: When he feels comfortable, he is cheerful, loving and enjoys his life very much. We are looking for a quiet, reliable home for Alinush with people who do not expect him to be completely uninhibited from the first moment on. He does not need special treatment, just some understanding, time and calm guidance when something is unfamiliar to him. Once he has gained trust, he will get an incredibly loving, attached and loyal dog who values the closeness of his humans very much. If you are looking for a friendly, rather balanced companion who enjoys being in nature and can give a sensitive dog the security he needs, you might find a wonderful companion in Alinush. All our dogs are, of course, vaccinated, dewormed and chipped with an EU pass! Please understand that we can only answer serious inquiries with name, address, email address and phone number. Rasse: Mischling. About Alinush

What life with Alinush looks like

Alinush is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Grenzenlose Notfelle e.V. in Dittelbrunn.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alinush, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alinush?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Grenzenlose Notfelle e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alinush on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alinush if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Grenzenlose Notfelle e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Alinush already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alinush isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Grenzenlose Notfelle e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alinush and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
