Adopt Alma B

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

ProfileAge: Born in 2019. Gender: female. neutered: yesCharacter: unsure, but very interestedSize: approx. 45 cmSince in the shelter: since April 2023Do I want to introduce myself? No, to be honest, not really.Ok, very briefly, I'm Alma. Why do I seem a bit unfriendly at first? I'm overwhelmed here and don't feel well. It's so loud here and the many dogs are so excited.I don't know why I ended up here.Somewhere, no one seems to understand me. There are these bipeds who think they can lure me with food. That's not so simple with me. Although I have to admit, it's tempting.Know that feeling? You want to so badly, but the last bit of courage is missing? That doesn't help me to get out of here, because there are many sweet puppies and dogs here who find it easier to cope with life in the shelter. And whether I want to be adopted by someone is something I can't even imagine. But it's exactly the thought of a family that keeps me from losing all hope. I just wish that I could still have some happiness in my life and that someone would love me despite my initial distance and show me the beautiful sides of life. Could you be that someone? Please give me hope. If you're interested in Alma, please fill out our interest form ()or write us an email or a message on Facebook. Alma is ready to travel and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system that monitors the entire animal transport within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed, and have an EU passport. Additionally, for dogs over 12 months old, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is conducted before travel arrangements: Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis, and leishmaniasis. The sponsorship of Alma has been taken over by Bianca B. and thus ensures a full food bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

SteckbriefAlter: 2019 geboren. Geschlecht: weiblich.

About Alma B

What life with Alma B looks like

Alma B is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Alma B, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Alma B?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Alma B on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Alma B if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Alma B already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Alma B isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Alma B and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
