Belfegor

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Belfegor and Bonetta are two adorable siblings who were abandoned in Kecskemét, Hungary on June 8th, 2026. They were discovered by kind people and brought to the animal shelter where they are now safe. Although they were born into a world of rejection, their start in life could have been better. Fortunately, they were found and taken care of. While the shelter is not their ideal home, they are together as siblings and will have the chance to become beloved family members. This enchanting duo is now waiting for its own people who can accompany them on their journey, support them, and never leave them behind. Belfegor and Bonetta do not need to be adopted together. They are more shy puppies. In addition, they are very afraid of the shelter situation, noise, and chaos. Animal shelter worker Anna has taken care of them and they are learning that there are also good people out there and they don't have to be afraid. Slowly, they are gaining trust in their caregivers and opening up every day a little more. It is wonderful to see them happy and playful. The siblings are still very young and their new owners will need to teach them everything necessary for their life as family dogs step by step, lovingly and patiently. Their new humans should also be aware that young dogs require work and responsibility. Once they have settled in peacefully, they would surely appreciate age-appropriate activities and support. Who knows what hidden talents lie within them? With their kindred spirits, a confident second dog to orient themselves around could help them feel more secure in their new life. We are looking for loving people who can give Belfegor and Bonetta enough love, understanding, empathy, time, patience, and security to make their disappointed souls happy and content. Belfegor and Bonetta will soon realize how wonderful it is to live with understanding humans and they will open up their hearts and become great and loyal companions if only given the chance to show what's inside of them. Who can they trust? They are both too young for neutering at this time, which must be done by their new owners when they are old enough. Estimated adult size is 43-53cm and weight is 11-19kg. On June 25th, 2026 Belfegor was 32cm and weighed 5.7kg. The siblings can travel from around the beginning/middle of August 2026 if they have found a home or foster family.

About Belfegor

What life with Belfegor looks like

Belfegor is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Belfegor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Belfegor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Belfegor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Belfegor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Belfegor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Belfegor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Belfegor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
