Benji werd samen met zijn moeder van straat gered. Ze zwierven rond terwijl zijn moeder loops was, waardoor ze voortdurend werd belaagd door reuen. Gelukkig konden ze op tijd in veiligheid worden gebracht, nog voordat ze in een openbaar asiel terechtkwamen. Zijn moeder is inmiddels gesteriliseerd en herstelt goed, terwijl Benji iedere dag sterker wordt. Zoals iedere jonge pup zit Benji vol energie en nieuwsgierigheid. Hij is nog erg gehecht aan zijn moeder, maar durft steeds vaker zelfstandig op ontdekking te gaan. Hij speelt graag met de andere honden in de opvang en probeert ook de kittens enthousiast uit te nodigen om met hem mee te doen. Benji is dol op eten en heeft zijn moeilijke start inmiddels goed ingehaald. Hij groeit mooi en is klaar voor een gezin dat hem met geduld en positieve begeleiding wil laten opgroeien tot een stabiele, vrolijke huishond. Samen wandelen, spelen, trainen en de wereld ontdekken – Benji kijkt ernaar uit. Zoals voor alle honden uit het buitenland geldt, zal ook Benji de tijd nodig hebben om te wennen aan zijn nieuwe leven in Nederland. Nieuwe indrukken, geluiden, regels en routines vragen om geduld, begrip en begeleiding. Met een rustige opbouw en een liefdevolle aanpak zal Benji zich stap voor stap ontwikkelen tot een trouwe huisgenoot. Benji reist gechipt, gevaccineerd, ontwormd en met een Europees paspoort.
