Adopt Bobby

Mixed Breed · Unknown · 6 months

Bobby: an incredibly loving and enthusiastic 6-month-old boy looking for a loving home! Bobby was found on the street as a puppy in Bulgaria and was taken in by kind people. Soon we were asked if we would like to welcome him, and we did. Bobby recently came to us and we are looking for a nice place for this great guy! Bobby is truly a wonderful dog! He is incredibly loving and gentle, super social and just a real treasure. Bobby is also really a worker and loves to train with you. He can really focus completely on you for minutes and wants to do everything for you with love (and in return for a treat😉). We are really impressed how he already has such concentration at such a young age! Also very nice is that he can switch well from working to relaxing. Because Bobby really likes to learn, we are looking for people who also really enjoy training and taking courses and who, like Bobby, become happy about it! Bobby is very social with dogs and also lived together with other dogs. Therefore, he could share his new home with another dog. He also takes cats very calmly and could share his new home with a cat. Bobby is used to living indoors and is housebroken, knows the car and could also be left alone with the other dogs for a while. Of course, this will have to be built up again in his new home, especially if he ends up being the only dog there. Bobby is very fond of food and this is one of the reasons why we don't place him with young children. He will want to take it from their hands and he doesn't always take it gently. Also, he will go through puberty and, given that there is some herding dog blood in him, we think a family with young children is simply not suitable. A home without children or with older children is no problem. Bobby is really a great dog looking for experienced people who like to train with him, go for long walks and also appreciate his loving character. Then he will do his best for you and you will get a fantastic dog back!

About Bobby

What life with Bobby looks like

Bobby is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dierenopvang Koningen in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bobby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bobby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvang Koningen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bobby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bobby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvang Koningen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bobby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bobby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvang Koningen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bobby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
