Bono

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Bono has a happy and enthusiastic personality and is still quite young at heart. He thoroughly enjoys human contact and is very much up for being approached. He is also very independent and likes to quietly roam, run or be in his own world. He can amuse himself perfectly well on his own with a toy. Despite his cheerful personality, he can be unsure in unfamiliar situations. When Bono sees another dog from his kennel (and possibly also on the leash), he clearly makes his voice heard. During play, Bono is also vocal with barking and growling, but don't confuse this with his alert bark! This is purely for fun. We are looking for a quiet 1 or 2-person household without other animals for Bono. A home with a safe, enclosed garden is important for Bono. Bono will need a confident, responsible owner. Someone who likes to go out and perhaps take part in training or dog sports with him. Bono can potentially be placed with children aged 12 years and older.

NL·Show original

Ga terug

About Bono

What life with Bono looks like

Bono is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dierentehuis Arnhem in Netherlands.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bono, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bono?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Arnhem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bono on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bono if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis Arnhem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bono already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bono isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Arnhem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bono and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
