Meet Caramello, a beautiful young Podenco with soft chocolate and fawn colouring and an even softer heart. Rescued from an industrial estate where he had been surviving alone. When he first arrived at our partner shelter, Caramello was around a year old and utterly overwelmed by his new surroundings. For a time he shut down completely and was too frightened to leave his kennel. With patience and gentle encouragement Caramello has begun to blossom. He now enjoys exploring at his own pace and takes great comfort from calm, friendly dogs around him, He adores canine companionship and thrives when he has another dog to follow and learn from. Caramello will flourish in a calm, patient home wiht people who understand that trust takes time. A confident resident dog would be a huge benefit to him, helping him continue his journey from frightened youngster to secure, loving companion. A quieter environment with a garden would also help him to settle into home life. This lovely boy has overcome so much already. Now he’s ready for a home where he can continue to grow, at his own pace. Watching and helping a nervous podenco grow in confidence can be such a rewarding experience, and Caramello is exactly that kind of soul - gentle, sensitive and full of potential. Caramello is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. He is passported and available for adoption now.
