China

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

The little China was dropped off with us at the animal shelter Mi Fiel Amigo with her three tiny puppies, even though she was barely a year old herself. Until the day of the surrender, she lived on a farm with a couple who claimed that China did not belong to them at all. They also failed to notice China’s pregnancy until just before birth and eventually found the puppies somewhere on the property. For days, China did not eat. Probably she did not want to leave her babies alone. Ultimately, it came to the point where the couple wanted to surrender the little family because a job change and the associated move were on the horizon. The shelter staff got to know an incredibly affectionate and attentive China. She is extremely caring with her children—kindness and patience in one person. The little ones are well-nourished and appear psychologically stable. During the nursing period, China can be stroked, shows no jealousy, and trusts the hands that approach and touch her. Yes, the little China longs for human proximity and is friendly to everyone. If you are looking for an absolutely cuddly four-legged friend, you are at the right place with China. But pictures speak more than words. The photos and videos show what a wonderful and heart-warming female dog the little China is. We wish for this canine soul a family with slightly older and sensible children, preferably a single person or a couple. We wish for responsible people who are looking forward to a long life with China. People who show her that she is not just a companion but a family member. People who are only waiting to show China the beautiful sides of life. A friendly canine companion may already be present. Probably, the female dog has not yet learned much. But she is willing and attentive, wants to please, and is eager to learn. Though this little mouse may be small, she has a big heart to give. The puppies Arlés, Lyon, and Niza from China are presented separately. If you want to open your heart and door to our dear China, they can contact their mediator. You will be kindly advised and accompanied. Now it is time for a real home for you, little China, and for your babies. All fingers are crossed for you. © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

About China

What life with China looks like

China is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting China, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about China?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw China on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt China if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is China already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if China isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know China and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
