Clara

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Sometimes human cruelty knows no bounds. Fortunately, there are always people who are not capable of such deeds and do not look away when someone needs help. In this case, it involves a basket of puppies only a few weeks old, left out in the middle of nowhere. Without a dog mom, without shelter, and without food or water. A girl found the basket, raised the alarm, and safely brought all five puppies to a foster family where they are being lovingly cared for and raised. One of these little rascals is Clara. Like her other siblings, she is a really cute little mouse who, at her age, currently does exactly three things – and in pretty much the same order: play with her siblings, eat, sleep, and then start all over again. Currently, Clara shows no signs of illness and seems to be a top-fit, little puppy girl whose big goal is to grow big and strong and hopefully find her own family soon. Unfortunately, the parents are not known, so it’s not clear how big or small the litter will grow. The dog bed in the new forever family should therefore grow with her. Clara wishes for people who will take her as she is, give her some training in a good dog training class, have plenty of time for her (ideally 24/7 when she’s a puppy), feed her well, and not lose interest in her when she’s no longer the little sweet plush ball but also love her during puberty and later in her senior years with a gray muzzle. Clara will certainly become a great family member if she is helped to find her place and the occasional sock-clawing in the beginning is taken with a wink. Together with you, she will enjoy walks, cuddle time on the couch, and the occasional vacation – Clara will love it all and grow together with you.

Manchmal kennt menschliche Grausamkeit keine Grenzen.

About Clara

What life with Clara looks like

Clara is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
