Czaruś

Male · Young · 2 years

Here is Czaruś - he captivated us from the very first meeting :)) Czaruś is a young, calm pup with an incredible warm gaze, perfectly sized - not too big and not too small ;). He arrived at the animal shelter on chilly March days and it's clear he's never had it easy so far. With a little care, his previously dull, neglected fur will quickly regain its luster. What's important - Czaruś is very patient during grooming, so hygiene routines don't bother him at all; in fact, he starts to associate them with warm touches and closeness to a human. On walks, he eagerly sniffs and explores his surroundings, learning everything step by step. He also watches his guide closely and follows along. Czaruś is a wonderful observer, strolling at a steady pace, looking around, and getting to know the world. He watches other dogs with interest but so far doesn't interact with them. He needs a little time to find his place in the new shelter reality. After a walk, he happily sits by a human, enjoying being stroked and having his ear tickled ;). For Czarusia, we are searching for a home that will surround him with permanent care. Czaruś will be an excellent dog companion. We hope he will quickly charm someone among you :)

PL·Show original

Mamy nadzieję, że szybko oczaruje kogoś z Was :)

About Czaruś

What life with Czaruś looks like

Czaruś is a small young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs grooming care - previously neglected coat condition

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Czaruś, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Czaruś?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Czaruś on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Czaruś if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Czaruś already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Czaruś isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Czaruś and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
