Dubaj

Male · Adult · 4 years

Dubaj is very shy and has not said much about himself from the beginning. He has therefore been widely considered "at least a bit strange." He has gotten used to his expressions, which are very unclear and probably for this reason incomprehensible to many. He has gotten used to his melancholic moods, which paralyze him like migraines do people. He has gotten used to the fact that when all signs in heaven and earth say that the world is beautiful, Dubaja's paw or soul hurts. He has not gotten used to shelter conditions, although it can be assumed that he sometimes finds small pleasures that probably allow him to keep going. He likes to bury himself in straw, fall asleep on walks, study phenomena completely uninteresting to the rest of the world, be amazed by everything, and of course eat well, and above all values holy peace. He is a great companion for quiet walks in the forest or field, he does not pull, does not bark, does not rush at dogs, and does not hold grudges against other creatures. Dubaj was most likely raised in an environment filled with violence, which made him a frightened dog and very poorly equipped in terms of vocabulary, diversity of experiences, and behaviors. Despite this, he tries to "make up for the deficiencies," approaches meetings with dogs with curiosity. With new people, he keeps his distance and still needs a lot of time to feel comfortable in their company, but he is also making promising progress in this area. The past cannot be changed, and the harm done cannot be repaired. But we believe in Dubaja, we support him on his way to normality, although we know well that here, in the animal shelter, we will not significantly improve his functioning - that can only happen in a home. Jeśli chcesz mu pomóc i odwrócić los, zadzwoń! Więcej dowiesz się tu: () () () () Ida 694689970 Tonia 602763034 Behawiorystka 514360970

About Dubaj

What life with Dubaj looks like

Dubaj is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Trauma survivor requiring patient rehabilitation and quiet environment

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dubaj, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dubaj?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dubaj on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dubaj if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dubaj already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dubaj isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dubaj and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
