Enfys

Cocker Spaniel · Female · Young · 3 years

06-08-26 Enfys is a very nervous girl who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She has a gentle, sensitive nature and will shy away from us, all whilst wagging her tail. Although she is understandably worried, Enfys is happy to accept a gentle fuss and allows herself to be handled. Once we leave the kennel, her excitement starts to show and she becomes much more animated, giving us little glimpses of the happy girl she has the potential to become. Enfys gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens aged 16+ who are sensible and will allow her time to settle in. As Enfys has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and understanding as she adjusts to a completely new way of living. Enfys is new to lead walking, but she would like to continue this training in her new home once she is settled. Enfys is a lovely girl who is already showing us little flashes of her personality. With time, patience, and the support of a friendly resident dog, we hope she will continue to grow in confidence and enjoy the happy future she deserves. Enfys has arrived overweight, so she will need a good diet and gentle exercise to help her reach and maintain a healthy weight. This will need to be continued in her new home. She also has a Grade 1 patella luxation in her right hind leg, although this may continue to improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle. Enfys is also being treated for a skin rash and has some areas of alopecia. Our veterinary team will continue to monitor her progress and ensure she receives any care she needs. She has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Enfys

What life with Enfys looks like

Enfys is a young adult cocker spaniel dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Enfys, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Enfys?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Enfys on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Enfys if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Enfys already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Enfys isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Enfys and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
