Erica

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

💕 MEET ERICA – OUR LITTLE BUNDLE OF FUR! 💕🐾 At just 17–18 weeks old, little Erica is ready to start looking for a family of her very own! 🏡 This gorgeous little girl is a Chihuahua cross Jack Russell, and she’s the most wonderful mix of loving, affectionate and full-of-fun puppy. She’s got the sweetest nature, loves everybody she meets and has absolutely no badness in her. Just a happy, bouncy little girl who wants to be part of everything! 🩷 Erica has been growing up alongside the other pups in our puppy unit, so she’s used to having canine company and gets on wonderfully with other dogs. We’d ideally love to see her go to a home with another friendly dog to play with, learn from and snuggle up beside. Now, we have to tell you about her little protective streak! 😂❤️ Erica has inherited a wee bit of both sides of her breed, and when she’s up in your arms and another dog approaches, she might let out a tiny growl to let you know she’s keeping you safe. We call her our little protector! 🥰 She’s a tiny girl with a big personality, and it’s all part of her charm. She’s a happy, bouncy, affectionate puppy who will need a family ready for all the fun, mischief and adventures that come with raising a young dog. Erica can live with children aged 8 years and over. We can just imagine this little girl curled up on the sofa with her family after a busy day of playing, bringing laughter into the house and making herself everyone’s favourite little companion. 💗 ✨ Erica is ready to find her people! If you have a loving home, plenty of cuddles to give and perhaps a friendly dog who would enjoy a little sister, Erica could be the perfect addition to your family. Let’s find our little protector the forever home she deserves! 💕🐶

About Erica

What life with Erica looks like

Erica is a very small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Erica, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Erica?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Erica on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Erica if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Erica already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Erica isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Erica and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
