Fanta

Beagle · Female · Young · 3 years

I can live with older, dog-savvy teens aged 16+ who understand I need space. I need a doggy friend in my new home. I haven’t met cats so I’m unsure. I will need a secure garden with minimum 6ft fencing. I haven't tried walks yet, a secure garden will be fine for now. Please be patient with me, I haven’t lived in a home before I've started my vaccinations and will be spayed before adoption. 22-10-26 Fanta is quite a scared girly who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She is in need of lots of TLC and the reassurance of a confident resident dog to help her feel safe. Fanta can be a little panicky and flighty, so she will need a very secure garden with high fencing to keep her safe while she settles into her new surroundings. Although Fanta was shaking, she allowed us to pick her up and give her a gentle fuss to reassure her that we are here to help. She is still very unsure at the moment, so her new family will need to be patient and allow her the time she needs to learn to trust. Fanta will need another kind and confident dog in her new home, as this will be a much-needed support system for her. A reassuring canine companion can help guide her and give her the confidence she needs as she settles in and begins to find her paws. As Fanta has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training and the other basics of home life. Her adopters will need to understand that this may take time and be prepared to let her progress at her own pace. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens aged 16+ who understand she needs time to settle in. Her adopters will need to have ex-breeding experience to better understand her needs. Fanta is a very worried little girl, but she has already shown us that she can accept gentle affection even when she is feeling frightened. We hope that with a confident canine companion, a calm environment and lots of patience, she will gradually begin to feel safe and discover the happy new life she deserves. Fanta has been given the Gift of Life by Aimee Helme Through the generosity of a Gift of Life sponsor, this dog was able to leave behind an uncertain future in Ireland and find safety and care at Many Tears. Every sponsorship helps us rescue and save more dogs in desperate need. If you would like to become part of a rescue story, please consider donating to our Gift of Life fund. These wonderful souls may be older, have medical needs, or come with a few unique quirks—but they have endless love to give. Full of personality and deserving of a second chance, they come with a reduced adoption fee to help them find the perfect home. Could you be the one to give them the love they’ve been waiting for? This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Fanta

What life with Fanta looks like

Fanta is a young adult beagle dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in United Kingdom.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fanta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fanta?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fanta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fanta if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Fanta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fanta isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fanta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
