Adopt FARAH

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Estimated birth date: March 2025 Brief info: alert, curious, playful, very people-oriented, cuddly, intelligent, family+, older kids+, male dogs+, female dogs+ The puppy estimated to have been born in March 2025, FARAH, was wandering around a camping ground at the end of August 2025 and seemed to be seeking contact with people, from whom she likely hoped for help. And she got it, for a loving couple informed the animal shelter, so that the puppy could be brought to safety. From the very first moment, FARAH was very friendly to everyone around her. But she needed some time to get used to the kennel. The couple who had saved her came and still comes every week to take FARAH for a walk. Outdoors with them, FARAH is happy, curious, and simply adorable. But back in the kennel, she was initially very stressed and cried and barked a lot. But now she has gotten used to the shelter life, is less stressed, and doesn’t bark anymore. However, we hope for this so people-oriented young puppy that she will be discovered by loving people who want to give her an appropriate and “colorful” life. She is desperately seeking connection. With her fellow animals, she gets along wonderfully in the run and is happy to run around with them. Only when out on the leash, she still barks at other dogs. She just needs a bit more routine with the situation. But she is still so young and also very smart, so she can still learn everything. So we are now looking for adventurous people with solid dog experience who are willing to take on the adventure of “puppy” – with everything that comes with it: playing, snuggling, toiling, but also a good, loving, and consistent upbringing as well as sufficient mental stimulation and physical exertion. Please keep in mind that a young puppy is a full-time job for the first few months and requires 24-hour care. This must be guaranteed in any potential adoption. FARAH travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and with an EU pet passport to her new home. Have you fallen in love with the cute puppy? Then we look forward to your message!. Suitable only for households with older children. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About FARAH

What life with FARAH looks like

FARAH is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenretter Ungarn in Pfotenretter.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting FARAH, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about FARAH?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenretter Ungarn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw FARAH on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt FARAH if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenretter Ungarn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is FARAH already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if FARAH isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenretter Ungarn early rather than rehoming privately; they know FARAH and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
