Fedora

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 20 years

Tiny Wildfang on the lookout for love, safety, and security! Every Sunday—out comes the volunteer team. Every Sunday is training, play, and analysis time at the large animal shelter our area. The volunteers take one dog after another out of the kennels, work with them, snuggle, and take photos. This is part of the routine for the dogs in the socialization area. Initially, it was a small area, somewhat further from the main animal shelter section. Through the many helpers, kennels from the large tract could also be connected to the socialization area. This was the good fortune for Fedora and her kennel partners Matrix and Titi (both also on the homepage). Because their kennel borders the socialization area. Matrix made itself known with a friendly bark, Titi wagged its tail joyfully, and Fedora stood there. Through this wonderful interaction in the kennel, the volunteers decided to include the three in the socialization program. Initially, they worked with Titi, who put on the harness and clearly enjoyed the excursion to the run. Fedora and Matrix were more reserved when dressing Titi—healthy skepticism towards humans can't be blamed on any of the dogs there. They have to learn to trust again. But quickly, Matrix realized that the volunteers genuinely meant well with them, and since Titi set a good example, Matrix followed, and eventually, so did Fedora. Of course, the treats did their part too—how can anyone resist such a tasty piece of sausage?! © 2006-2024 by animal welfare association Europa e.V.

© 2006-2024 by Tierschutzverein Europa e.V. - All rights reserved

About Fedora

What life with Fedora looks like

Fedora is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Europa in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Fedora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Fedora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Europa handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Fedora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Fedora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Europa will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Fedora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Fedora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Europa early rather than rehoming privately; they know Fedora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
