Adopt Felix F

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Profile: Age: born around July 2021 Gender: male Neutered: yes Character: shy towards strangers, but always friendly Size: approx. 45-50 cm At the shelter since: September 2021 Relatives: Siblings Judie, Paloma, Nanook, Maxi, Teddy Hello dear people! I am part of a friendly sibling group consisting of 4 boys and 2 girls, and have been living here in this shelter since autumn 2021. Unfortunately, my siblings and I had a sad start in life, because when we were still small, we were abandoned and left alone. Without mom, without food, without water. Probably we wouldn't have survived without help from others. But fortunately, fate was kind to us, because loving animal people rescued us and took care of us. So we could grow up in a safe environment. However, a lot of time has passed now. We have grown up and are all more than ready to leave the shelter and go on our own way. My two sisters have already taken the first step and found their forever families in Germany. What is still missing for us brothers is naturally a own human family. I myself am a sensitive, reserved and friendly dog boy who doesn't quite know yet how to best approach people. But between us: it's exactly these dogs that are the best partners for life. Not the impulsive rambos, but the softer souls, which form an even closer bond with their own humans. And so I am sure that I will warmly embrace my family with some patience and be the best friend they can wish for. The earlier the better. I for my part am ready for a new chapter in my life. But since I only know life in the shelter, only people who are very patient should get in touch, because there will certainly be a lot of new and unknown things waiting for me. To process all these foreign - and maybe scary - impressions, I need time. And people by my side who don't give up immediately if it doesn't work out as they want. Now I look forward to the future and hope that I can soon, very soon, pack my suitcase! If you are interested in Felix, please fill out our application form () or send us an email at or a message via Facebook. Felix is ready for adoption and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system used to monitor all animal traffic within the EU. The dogs are neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed and have an EU passport. In addition, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is carried out on dogs over 12 months before departure: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis and Leishmaniasis. Karin F. has taken on the sponsorship of Felix and thus ensures a filled bowl. Thank you very much on behalf of the dogs!

About Felix F

What life with Felix F looks like

Felix F is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felix F, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felix F?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felix F on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felix F if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Felix F already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felix F isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felix F and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
