Flamara

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 1 month

Flamara, a female dog, has been at the shelter since August 2026. Estimated age: born around August 2026. Earliest possible release date: December 2. Learn more about Flamara in the video linked here. Flamara is looking for a home to grow up in. Would you give her one? This dog was rescued from the streets of Romania with her siblings and mother and taken to the shelter. More information about how the dogs come to the shelter and answers to general questions can be found in our animal welfare FAQ. Our puppy gang has shown itself to be playful and lively so far. The little clumsy dogs are exploring their world, some a bit shy, some already confident. Their character will develop further in the next weeks and months - only the beginnings can be recognized at this point. If you would like more information about this dog, please contact our placement team. Puppies should not have to grow up in a shelter. That's why we are urgently looking for a loving home or an experienced foster home for this little dog - a place where she can discover the world, build trust and just be a puppy. Anyone who adopts a puppy should be aware of how demanding everyday life with a young dog can be: As soon as the house training is done, the "wild puberty" often starts - full of energy, uncertainties and new challenges. The first years of life are an exciting journey that humans and dogs go through together - with ups and downs and plenty of learning moments. We wish this dog people with patience, empathy and perseverance - and with the understanding that animal shelter dogs often already have a certain history. How exactly they react to their new life in Germany can never be fully predicted. But one thing is certain: Adopting instead of buying not only gives an animal a second chance, but also actively decides against animal suffering - and for a life with a very special companion by your side. Already in love? Send us a self-disclosure! Adoption If you are thinking about an adoption, first read through the placement process. All dogs are vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, flea-treated and neutered before release (except for puppies up to 6 months and very old dogs). Dogs older than 1 year are also tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any questions, please send a message to our placement team.

About Flamara

What life with Flamara looks like

Flamara is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flamara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flamara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flamara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flamara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flamara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flamara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flamara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
