Adopt Inka

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Inka, a sad fate on a chain. The delicate Inka has been living a lonely life on a short chain since she was a small innocent puppy. We do not know what the purpose of this is, and we probably never will understand it. A cheerful young dog like Inka wants to run, play, and be a loyal companion to humans. There is nothing more beautiful than looking into the eyes of a playing dog who shines with happiness. Therefore, Inkas eyes were so sad day after day. But luckily, Inkas owners suddenly had no more use for her and acted wisely. They brought her to the animal shelter of Animal Protection. Here, Inka thrives. She is no longer alone, can move around, and has already made animal friends. We have promised her that she will have happiness on her side from now on and that a loving family is waiting for her somewhere one day. Inka is already very excited. The black-and-white beauty has kept her cheerful nature. She loves other dogs and is also very attached to people. At the animal shelter, she has a best friend. Together with Roulis, she shares a kennel. Roulis helps her forget her bad, meager life. Inka is very trainable and smart. She can already walk well on a leash and will quickly learn everything necessary to become a great family dog. For Inka, we wish people who want to give her a happy dog life. She brings so much positive energy and wants to give her big dog heart. Inka would like to accompany her family as often as possible. She would certainly not mind having a great dog companion. The animals are described as they behave in the animal shelter or in the foster home. This behavior does not show immediately upon arrival. Some react with fear at first to the new situation. Animals from the animal protection have all had a past, which was mostly not nice or cruel. This past cannot be shaken off overnight. They need time to arrive and to gain trust. Please be patient and give your pet the necessary time!

About Inka

What life with Inka looks like

Inka is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Inka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Inka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Inka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Inka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Inka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Inka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Inka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
