Jora

Mixed Breed Cat Β· Unknown Β· Kitten Β· 2 months

Meet Jora! Jora is one of five kittens that arrived at the centre after being found straying with their mum. Now they are old enough, all of the kittens are ready to get their paws into new homes. Having a bit of an unknown past, these kittens lack trust and can be very shy and worried upon meeting new people. They are slowly warming up to the idea of a kind hand and gentle strokes. They will all need plenty of time and positive experiences to help them grow into the sweet, confident cats that they are destined to be. Whilst they have their worries, they are still cheeky, fun kittens who love getting up to mischief and spend a lot of their day playing, napping, then playing some more! They have also got good appetites and are especially keen on a mid-morning lick-e-lix treat! These kittens would prefer a home with no dogs but could live with a friendly cat or even stay with one of their siblings if you were looking for double the trouble! They could also live with sensible older children who can help them come out of their shells whilst they settle into their first ever home. If you think you have space in your home for a sweet soul like Jora, please send in your application. About Jora

What life with Jora looks like

Jora is a medium-sized kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months β€” most shelters arrange this before adoption.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Jora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
