Adopt Jorchito

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

For Jorchito there was simply no more space. Jorchito is a typical young dog. Energetic, sporty, active. He wants to run, play and sometimes even have fun. All wonderful qualities that unfortunately did not fit his owner. An older lady who was overwhelmed by Jorchito's enthusiasm and joy of life. What had to happen, happened. His owner moved away and Jorchito was given up at the animal shelter. One can be sad about such behavior, of course, but for Jorchito this offers a unique chance to find people who love and appreciate his nature and can give him what he needs: mental stimulation and time. Jorchito deserves much more. Jorchito is actually an easygoing dog. Of course, he has a lot of energy, but he also has a very gentle, cuddly side. He is very people-oriented, wants to be wherever and be a loyal companion. He gets along well with other dogs, which makes him suitable as a second dog. His new family would surely make him happy by attending a dog training class. There he could then show what a great guy he is. He is always very attentive, so we assume he would be a diligent student. Mental stimulation is important for him in general. Walks, hikes or maybe splashing in the water, that's what our Jorchito dreams of. His family should be ready and motivated to do a lot with Jorchito. He is confident and open and will certainly adapt well to his new home. Many wonderful years lie ahead for Jorchito, which he does not want to waste at the animal shelter. The animals are described as they behave at the animal shelter or in the foster home. This behavior is not immediately evident upon arrival. Some react with initial shyness to the new situation. Animals from the animal protection have all had a past, which was often not pleasant or even cruel. This past cannot be shaken off overnight. They need time to arrive and gain trust. Please be patient and give your pet the necessary time!

Es kam, was kommen musste.

About Jorchito

What life with Jorchito looks like

Jorchito is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jorchito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jorchito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jorchito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jorchito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jorchito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jorchito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jorchito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
