Judy

Mixed Breed · Female

💛🐾 MEET JUDY – OUR BEAUTIFUL YELLOW LABRADOR! 🐾💛 Sometimes, the dogs who arrive at rescue frightened and unsure turn out to be the most wonderful souls of all. And Judy is one of those girls. ❤️ Judy is around two to three years old, and she really is an absolute sweetheart. When Judy first arrived with us, she was so frightened. She didn’t really want to be touched or handled, and it was heartbreaking to see. Judy had come from a loving home, had never had a bad day in her life, and suddenly found herself in a completely unfamiliar world. 💔 But fast forward a couple of weeks, and what a difference! 🥰 Judy has learned that she’s safe, she’s cared for, and she’s loved. She’s beginning to relax and show us the beautiful girl she’s always been. And what a girl she is! 🐾 Spotlessly clean – an absolute dream in the house. 🐾 Loves other dogs – she’d happily have four-legged friends around her. 🐾 Beautifully natured – she’s such a lovely, gentle soul. 🐾 A lovely walking companion – she’s strong on the lead, but walks beautifully. Honestly, there isn’t a bad word we could say about Judy. She’s a gorgeous girl who has so much love to give. Now, all she needs is someone to give her a chance. Someone who’ll take her out on adventures, let her explore the world, make happy memories with her, and then, at the end of a busy day, invite her up onto the sofa to snuggle in beside them. ❤️ Judy doesn’t need anything complicated. She just needs a family who will love her, keep her safe, and show her that the world can be a wonderful place again. She’s already come so far in such a short time. Just imagine how amazing she’ll be when she’s finally home. 🏡💛 Could you be Judy’s happy ever after? 📩 Please follow the link to apply to adopt this beautiful girl. Let’s get Judy home, where she belongs. 🐾💛

About Judy

What life with Judy looks like

Judy is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Judy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Judy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Judy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Judy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Judy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Judy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Judy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
