Kasparek & Knuffel

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 2 months

We are Kasparek and Knuffel – two adorable kittens just 3 months old. We were found outside and brought to the shelter because our mom was suddenly nowhere to be seen. We were just 8 weeks old, small, and very timid. People were just scary to us and we were very afraid of them. That is slowly changing now because we are curious and this funny toy on a string is very tempting. Also, our staff takes good care of us with food, which is of course very important for us. Because love goes through the stomach, as we know. But until we become real cuddly cats... hmm... that's probably a long way. But what's the point? We have our whole life ahead of us – a few months of patience is nothing. Meow! That's why we are now looking for cat-understanding people! Just those who know about such small, sweet wildlings, who are patient and don't pressure us. We would not mind a little "bribe" with delicious treats, but you'd better not tell anyone, otherwise everyone will do it and we will get fat and round, hehe! There is not much more to tell about us. Maybe you would like to get to know us and tell us something about yourself? Or you read us a story from a book and we can slowly learn that you are kind – and you would like to adopt us. That would be great. If we have gained trust in you, then we would also like to get out into nature again. Because we have basically been given freedom from the cradle...

DE·Show original

Hi! Doch was soll’s?

About Kasparek & Knuffel

What life with Kasparek & Knuffel looks like

Kasparek & Knuffel is a small puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Uhlenkrog Kiel in Kiel.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kasparek & Knuffel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kasparek & Knuffel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Uhlenkrog Kiel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kasparek & Knuffel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kasparek & Knuffel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Uhlenkrog Kiel will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kasparek & Knuffel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kasparek & Knuffel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Uhlenkrog Kiel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kasparek & Knuffel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
