Lamù

Female · Kitten · 8 months

In August 2025, one of our caregivers was walking in the Campagna. She suddenly heard a soft meowing. The meowing came from the abandoned house by the roadside. She went inside and, amidst a pile of trash, found a small black kitten behind an old piece of wood in the fireplace. Since another soft meowing came from another corner, she searched further and eventually found the black-and-white brother. How the kittens got there, we don't know, but they were obviously very hungry and thirsty. Our caregiver took the babies in, immediately got everything needed to feed and care for the little ones. Since she couldn't leave them alone during the day, she took the tiny ones to work with her, so she could feed them every two hours. Thankfully, Lucas and Lamù developed well. They grew into cheerful, playful kitten children. Naturally, they are very close with their foster mom. Lamù is a bit shy with strangers at first, but she quickly follows the example of her brother, who is very open and unreserved, and lets herself be petted as well. Since the two siblings are very attached to each other, we would like to see them move together into a permanent home. If you are interested in Lucas and Lamù, we look forward to your message. The two will only be placed in suitable apartments with a cat-safe netted balcony or secured terrace. This cat is to be kept indoors only.

About Lamù

What life with Lamù looks like

Lamù is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lamù, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lamù?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lamù on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lamù if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lamù already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lamù isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lamù and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
