Lava

Bengal · Female · Adult · 9 years

Well, hey there! I am Lava, but don't let my name scare you, I'm not as Spicy as I sound, I am actually a very warm, loving soul! I was bought into branch care with another Bengal, due to a change in my owners circumstances. I am super affectionate and lovvveeee attention! I am chatty, I have typical Bengal sass, but I am oh so pretty and scrumptious! I would benefit from an owner who has had Bengals before, as we have a lot of energy and personality that first time Bengal owners may find intimidating. I have lived with other cats, I was originally living with another Bengal but I was a bit of a bully and so have been separated from him now. So I may be best as a solo cat, as I deserve all your attention! I haven't live with dogs or young children so unsure how I would be. Once I am settled I will need access to the outdoors as I have a lot of energy to burn off! I am vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, negative FIV/FeLV, up to date with flea & worming. I do have a grade 1 heart murmur, I do not need medication for this currently, but my new owners will need to have my new vets keep an eye on this. Otherwise the vets have given me a clean bill of health. If you have space in your hearts and home for a affectionate ball of energy then please fill out an enquiry form!

About Lava

What life with Lava looks like

Lava is an adult bengal cat waiting at RSPCA Norwich in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lava, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lava?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Norwich handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lava on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lava if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Norwich will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lava already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lava isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Norwich early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lava and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
