Lime

Male · Puppy

This pretty Terrier named Lime, with his beautiful tri-color coat, was seized by Hungarian authorities due to poor husbandry. In his previous life, he had nothing but hardship. He lived in chain confinement with many other dogs, surrounded by excrement and trash. Love or proper socialization, Lime has not known. Initially, he shows great fear towards strangers and needs time to build trust. He is also startled by sudden movements and the unfamiliar environmental noises. Lime already allows his caregiver to stroke and pet him, but full trust takes time. In the short time at our Hungarian partner shelter, Lime has made great progress, but it will take more time for him to fully develop. He is learning to walk on a leash, doing it quite well, but we are not pushing him. We are trying to earn his full trust first. He gets along very well with other dogs. For Lime, we wish to find patient and loving people. People who can give him the time to settle in and build trust. A low-stress environment would be ideal. A house or apartment with garden access would be highly recommended. A friendly, confident dog already in the family would greatly help with the adjustment and provide security. Children in the new family should be at least in their teenage years. Lime has earned the chance for a new and happy life so much! As always, we remind you that an international rescue dog needs time, patience, and a loving home. New impressions, routines, and bonds should grow in peace. Those who are ready to walk this path together will be rewarded with a very special connection. The handsome Terrier is, of course, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has been examined by a veterinarian. He has an EU pet passport. The handover could take place on June 27, 2026, in Berlin, or alternatively in the Stuttgart area, should someone fall in love with him and wish to give her a – forever home –! Have you fallen in love with Lime? Then send us a direct message for more information! Lime Breed: Terrier Gender: Male, neutered Age: January 1, 2024 Shoulder height: approx. 45-50 cm. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

DE·Show original

Du hast dich in Lime verliebt? About Lime

What life with Lime looks like

Lime is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lime, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lime?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lime on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lime if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lime already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lime isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lime and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
