Adopt LORA

Female · Adult · 5 years

LORA - homeless for her entire life. Will someone change that? Lora is a young female dog, about 3-4 years old, who has never known any other place than the animal shelter. She has spent her entire life here. She came to us as a very young, extremely frightened female dog. She hid from people. She didn't want to be known. Now she still keeps her distance from strangers, but when you take her for a walk, you will see her sensitive soul. Lora has no trace of aggression in her. She has been with us for 3 years. That's too long. Does she still believe that someone will love her? Or has she just gotten used to the bars and the kennel? So many friends and companions have already found homes. Lora has no problems with other dogs, so she can certainly live with another nice and gentle dog. Let's give her a chance, she really needs it. Please. The description is based on observations of the dog at the animal shelter. We do not guarantee that her behavior will change at home. Lora is under the care of OTOZ Animals animal shelter in Tczew. Shelter registration number: 287/20 female dog is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and spayed. Weight range: 17-21 kg Call the animal shelter and ask about adoption: e-mail:

Prosimy. About LORA

What life with LORA looks like

LORA is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting LORA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LORA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LORA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LORA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LORA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LORA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know LORA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
