Max cairn x

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

🐾💙 Meet Max – 12/13 years young and absolutely NOT ready for retirement! 💙🐾 Max recently came into our care with the hope of finding himself a cosy little retirement home. But somebody forgot to tell Max he was supposed to be slowing down! 😂 This fabulous older lad is young at heart, full of life and always up for an adventure, a bit of craic and a good carry-on. He loves his walks, adores other dogs and is just the happiest, friendliest wee soul you could hope to meet. He’s affectionate, great company and an absolute pleasure to look after. Honestly, age is just a number to this boy! 🥰 Max has come from a multi-dog household, so we think he’d really enjoy having another dog to share his adventures with. ❤️ But here’s the really lovely bit… Max has a partner in crime, Rosie, an 11-year-old Spaniel who is just as young at heart as he is! These two share their lives together, and while we know finding a home for two dogs can be a big ask, we would absolutely LOVE to see them head off into retirement together. 🐶🐶 🏡 Max is looking for: 🐾 A home with children aged 8 and over. 🐾 Ideally, another friendly dog for company. 🐾 A family who enjoys walks, adventures and a happy little character around the house. Max might have a few more years behind him, but he has so much life and love left to give. He deserves to spend his golden years surrounded by happiness, comfort and people who adore him. And if someone out there has room in their heart and home for both Max and Rosie, well, that would be the dream! ❤️ 📩 Please get in touch with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI if you could offer Max, or Max and Rosie together, the wonderful home they deserve. Old dogs still have adventures to live and so much love to give. Let’s make Max’s next chapter his best one yet! 🐾💙

About Max cairn x

What life with Max cairn x looks like

Max cairn x is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Max cairn x, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Max cairn x?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Max cairn x on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Max cairn x if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Max cairn x already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Max cairn x isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Max cairn x and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
