Merry and Pippin

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 2 years

Looking for: A loving home together filled with fun and love Merry and Pippin, a yin-and-yang duo who will make your heart melt! Merry and Pippin are like the sun and the moon. While Pippin is lively, outgoing, and always keen for the spotlight, his brother Merry is all about the gentle life - appreciating cosy beds, peace, and quiet. Pippin is full of purrs and will happily spend his day following you around for fuss, but Merry will take a little more time and reassurance to encourage him to show off his true colours. Merry is a shy soul and is often eclipsed by his brother’s sunny temperament, but we’ve discovered that after-hours in the cattery he will emerge from his bed and spend time in the front of their pen. It turns out he even quite likes a fuss from our resident staff member when all is quiet! With these two sweet boys, adopters really will be getting the best of both worlds - not only living with an affectionate little shadow, but also being lucky enough to experience just how rewarding it can be when a nervous cat finally lets you stroke them, or when they sit beside you on the sofa for the first time. These two boys have a truly special bond, one where they both complement and complete each other. In the right home with a little patience, we have no doubt they will shine equally as brightly. While we feel these boys would be able to live in a home with other gentle cats, they would not be happy sharing their space with dogs or children under 6 years old. They will also need a safe outdoor space to explore when they are settled in their new home. Please apply for these bonded brothers using the link below.

About Merry and Pippin

What life with Merry and Pippin looks like

Merry and Pippin is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Merry and Pippin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Merry and Pippin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Merry and Pippin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Merry and Pippin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Merry and Pippin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Merry and Pippin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Merry and Pippin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
