Adopt Minni-4

Maltese · Female · Adult · 8 years

Country of origin: Hungary It unfortunately never ends, on April 17, 2026, three retired breeding dogs, Minni, Matyi and Muci, arrived at the Menhely again, partly in a desperate condition. What these dogs had to experience was simply hell on earth. They lived under the worst conditions and were abused as breeding machines. One must be aware of this when ordering cheap puppies online. And as long as this business is so booming, nothing will change. Fortunately, this now has an end for these three four-legged animals. Minni also made it. We are firmly holding our fingers crossed that they may now finally enjoy a suitable life after a life of exploitation. We very much wish that Minni will soon learn what it means to be a proper family member, to be loved and respected, and to have people who love her just as she is and can give her a wonderful life. Minni was initially very unsettled and had difficulty with her new life situation. So many things frightened the dear female dog. In addition, she had not experienced much love and affection in her previous life, and had only known exploitation. All of this is now something she is learning. She makes small progress every day and is beginning to trust and allow cuddles and especially to enjoy them. Minni's new people should be patient, understanding and empathetic, and gradually introduce her to the daily things of life and give her security when something is not right for her. Minni still has a lot to learn from the basics of dog behavior and will certainly try hard to please her new people. Minni gets along well with her fellow animals. A confident second dog could be a great help for her to find her feet in her new life. For our charming and increasingly brave Minni, we are looking for a loving and understanding home where she can first get used to things and where she can decide her own pace. She will quickly realize how good it is to have her own people who pamper her with many cuddles and give her love, care and security. Then nice walks, appropriate activities for dogs, and Minni can finally lead a happy dog's life and enjoy her life with dignity. Who will show Minni how beautiful life can be? As is unfortunately usual with breeding dogs, Minni also has her issues; the harsh life, the exploitation and the fact that her former owners did not care have left their marks. Minni has lost some teeth, has an ear infection, and is being treated for it, "shrunk ears and mammary tumors, an update will follow. Minni-4 will travel to a foster home in Switzerland at the end of May 2026. Please do not send a questionnaire to animal-happyend. Bitte keinen Fragebogen an animal-happyend senden. About Minni-4

What life with Minni-4 looks like

Minni-4 is a adult maltese dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Minni-4, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Minni-4?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Minni-4 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Minni-4 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Minni-4 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Minni-4 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Minni-4 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
