Nana &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female

Nana now lives in 45479 Mülheim/Ruhr. All the best, Nana. Heartfelt thanks, Frau P. Nana is a charming female dog at the tender age of only seven months. She was born in the animal shelter and was adopted by a family who took care of her and gave her love and security during her first months of life. Unfortunately, the family's situation has changed – they are expecting a baby soon, and the mother has developed a dog allergy. For these reasons, they have reluctantly decided to bring Nana back to the animal shelter, where she eagerly awaits a new home. With her current weight of just under 15 kilograms and a predicted adult size of about 25 kilograms, Nana belongs to the medium-sized dogs. Her shoulder height as an adult dog is estimated to be around 40 centimeters, making her an ideal companion for families and individuals who are looking for an active and affectionate dog. Nana is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and in the best of health. Her friendly and playful nature makes her a wonderful addition to any home. She loves long walks and is always curious and full of energy. Her attachment and her affectionate nature make her a loyal companion who enjoys spending time with her people and showing them her affection. She can be rehomed as a second dog without any problems, as she gets along well with other dogs, but Nana also comes into her own as a solo princess if her people have enough time and she is allowed to make friends in the neighborhood. Additionally, she is child-friendly and suitable for families with children. Her balanced nature and her gentle, but playful character allow her to be a good and loving friend to the little ones. If you are looking for a loyal companion who will enrich your life with joy and love, then Nana is just right for you. If you are interested in giving our little ball of kisses a home, we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Nana lebt jetzt in 45479 Mülheim/Ruhr. Alles Gute, Nana.

About Nana &#8211

What life with Nana &#8211 looks like

Nana &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nana &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nana &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nana &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nana &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nana &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nana &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nana &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
