Nimo

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Nimo is a dog about 2 to 3 years old (April 2026) and a beautiful medium-sized dog. With a height of approximately 55 cm and a weight of around 20 kg, he is an athletic and energetic presence. His black shiny coat and radiant eyes make him immediately noticeable when you walk past his kennel. His past was difficult. He was found last May in poor condition. He was extremely thin, weighed only about 10 kg and had hardly the strength to walk. Fortunately, he was found in time and carefully taken in. Step by step, he received the right food and care so that he could regain his strength. He is now staying with rescuer Timea. Nimo has now fully bloomed. He looks fit, is full of energy, and radiates enthusiasm for life. In April 2026, our volunteers went to Romania, where they personally met Nimo. As soon as he is allowed out of the kennel, he clearly enjoys it. In addition, he is easy to take with and quickly makes contact with people. He is friendly, approachable and loves to be petted. Furthermore, Nimo is playful and active. He likes to play with other dogs and moves energetically and joyfully through his environment. At the same time, he is very people-oriented and thoroughly enjoys attention. It is precisely this combination that makes him a nice and involved dog. Finally, Nimo is a dog who has left his difficult past behind and is ready for a new start. Who will give this energetic and loving young man a warm home where he can continue to enjoy life? 💛 Photos and Videos Nimo found Nimo now Nimo left Nimo is looking for a nice home ❤️ Size: approx. 55 cm / approx. 20 kg Born: estimated October 21, 2023 Neutered: Yes Accommodation: Sovata, Romania Cats: unknown Horses: unknown Temperament: friendly, playful, energetic, social We think Nimo can develop into a nice family dog with your help! About Nimo

What life with Nimo looks like

Nimo is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Help een Hond in Netherlands.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nimo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nimo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Help een Hond handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nimo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nimo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Help een Hond will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nimo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nimo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Help een Hond early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nimo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
