Adopt Odin

Husky · Male · Young · 3 years

Size: approx. 60 cm 18.12.2025 It's incredible, but the wonderful Odin hasn't found his people yet. Therefore, Odin could now present himself in the animal show. Will he finally be discovered? Watch for yourself: Odin, our movie star 27.07.2025 Odin is a very people-oriented and attentive male dog. Typical of his breed, Odin is very active, learns quickly and likes to be occupied. Odin is friendly towards other animals, although still somewhat wild and distant. He needs help from his human companion here. For this reason, Odin would like to be an only child, and cats or small animals should not live in his new home. Here is a nice walk with a dog friend: Odin with Malu For the active and very attached male dog we wish active and dog-experienced people without children who want to continue working with him. His new people can look forward to an exciting time together. A young dog needs sufficient mental stimulation, so there must be enough time and space for the new family member. Odin is microchipped, completely vaccinated (rabies and combination vaccination) and neutered. Would you like to meet our wonderful Odin? Then we look forward to your message. 28.06.2025 Welcome to Switzerland, dear Odin. We are happy to have you with us in Switzerland and we are convinced that we will quickly find a home for you. You are a great guy. 15.04.2025 The active and very people-friendly Odin was surrendered by his owner, he no longer wants him... Really very sad, but now he has the chance to find a better person who loves him and is also willing to work with him. Odin is still an absolute raw diamond and he would like to learn. Odin gets along with other dogs, although still somewhat wild and distant. This definitely needs to be worked on. We wish active and experienced dog people for the wonderful Odin. Odin is microchipped, completely vaccinated and neutered. Would you like to give Odin a new home? Then we look forward to your message.

About Odin

What life with Odin looks like

Odin is a young adult husky dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
